Moringa Magic: Healthy Recipes for a Merry Christmas

Make your Christmas recipe extra healthy and special with the goodness of moringa. It won't only enhance the flavors of your holiday recipes but also can help elevate the well-being of those you love. 

Here are healthy moringa recipes you and your family will surely love.

1. Moringa Ginger Smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup oat or almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • honey (optional)
  •  Ice cubes (optional)
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon moringa powder 

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, mix ripe banana, molasses, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and moringa powder
  2. Pour in your preferred milk and blend until smooth.
  3. If desired, add ice cubes and blend again until the smoothie reaches the consistency you like.
  4. Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top, and enjoy!

2. Moringa Peppermint Hot Chocolate:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons stevia, honey or maple syrup 
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon moringa powder
  • Whipped coconut cream (optional, for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Heat almond milk over medium heat until warm but not boiling in a saucepan.
  2. Add in and mix cocoa powder, honey,  stevia or maple syrup, peppermint extract, and moringa powder until well combined.
  3. Continue to heat, stirring frequently, until the hot chocolate is smooth and heated to your preference. 
  4. Pour into mugs, top with whipped coconut cream if desired! 

3. Moringa and Goat Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms:

Ingredients:

  • 12 large mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed
  • parsley for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon moringa powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup goat cheese, softened
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened goat cheese, chopped parsley, moringa powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Scoop the goat cheese mixture into the mushroom caps.
  4. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet, coat with olive oil, and bake until the mushrooms are tender, preferably 15-20 minutes. 
  5. Serve warm and enjoy!

4. Moringa Sweet Potato Soup:

Ingredients:

  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon moringa powder
  • Coconut milk or any milk (optional, for creaminess)

Instructions:

  1. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened.
  2. Add the diced sweet potatoes, ground cumin, moringa powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well. 
  3. Add the vegetable broth and bring it to a boil. Lower the heat, cover, and let it simmer until the sweet potatoes reach a tender consistency.
  4. You may use an immersion blender to blend the soup until smooth.  Stir in coconut milk for extra creaminess, this is optional.
  5. Adjust seasoning to taste, serve hot, and enjoy!
